The City was approached by several potential partners to bring little league baseball back to Middletown again. The first step in bringing back baseball is having a field for a team to play on.
We are working with several of those partners to start the reconstruction of Rathman field. We have partners donating time and materials, the YMCA is working on getting a little league charter for Middletown, and the city kicked in $25,000 towards the rebuilding of the baseball diamond.
Work started this week as we poured concrete for the beginning of the dugouts. I’ll try to keep you updated as construction continues and we hope to have the beginning of a little league baseball program in Middletown next spring!
